Wildlife Protection Laws in India - Advocate in Delhi

What Exactly is India's Wildlife Protection Law?聽

The Wildlife Protection Act was passed by Parliament in 1972 to give legal protection to the biodiversity in the country. In essence, this law was enacted for the protection of wild animals, birds, and plants in terms of illegal poaching, hunting, and trade. It provides for the establishment of protected areas like national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, and activities within those areas are regulated by the law. The various amendments to the law have brought about more emphasis on conservation as well as more deterrent punishment to wildlife violations.
